About Me

So for a long time now I have been thinking about writing a blog. I have always loved writing and talking about things I have enjoyed doing...so I thought making a blog would be the perfect way of doing this. I have also recently realised just had awful my memory is becoming (even though I am only 21) so hopefully writing a blog will help me remember things I have done! I am not going to be specifically using this blog to talk about anything in particular, I plan for it to be about anything and everything! I do however, love travelling, shopping and cooking so I can almost guarantee there will be posts on these things. I hope you enjoy reading!!

Recently I went on a ski trip to Val Thrones with uni. I had such a good time and it was so nice to go skiing again. Two years ago I spent 5 months in Les Gets on a ski season, working as a nanny, which was amazing! Ever since then I have always wanted to go back. A lot of people say once you have been skiing you want to go again (you have got the 'skiing bug!') This is definitly true in my case! Apart from dancing I have never been very in to sports...so I now class skiing as a sport I actually enjoy doing. I had lots of essays to do over the Christmas holidays, so the ski trip was a very much needed break (although I still came back pretty shattered!) We went to France by coach, which in total took about 20 hours there and even longer coming back, because we were delayed in Calais for 6 hours due to 'rough seas.' So aside from the very long journey the actual trip all went smoothy and luckily there was no broken bones!! Although, there was a very dramatic incident where I  generally thought I was going to die. I ended up getting 'dragged' into having a ski lesson with a French ski instructor who was on a season in Val Thrones. Of course it was very kind of him to offer to take me out for a few hours but there was quite a prominent language barrier! We started of on easy runs (greens and blues) and then he decided to take me on a red (the second hardest ski slope). By the way incase you are wondering why I do not sound particularly confident in skiing, (considering I have mentioned I did a ski season), I never had any lessons and did become quite lazy on my days off...so I still lack confidence! Anyway, when I was going down the red slope I slipped and could not stop falling down the mountain. I tried to grab onto the ski instructors pole but he then also started falling and eventually after what seemed like hours he came to my rescue! I was by this point getting closer and closer towards the edge of the ski run....It was a petrifying experience to say the least!!

I am going to stop rambling on now because I will end up writing pages and I can't think this is particularly interesting endless you were there or I told you in person!

Here are some photos of my trip to Val Thorens

Having a hot chocolate in a cafe on the mountain!

This was the view from our apartment.

Me posing!

This was on my ski lesson with the French ski instructor!

We skied to the highest point of the mountains...it was sooo beautiful!

Again the view for our apartment at about 5 o'clock...so pretty!

How cute is this dog?!

For Christmas I was really lucky and got a Go Pro. So I took lots of footage of me skiing. I will try and put some in to a video sometime because there are some hilarious videos of me and my friends falling over (in my case screaming down a red run....literally thinking I was going to die).

XOXOXOX
